This apparatus is designed to illustrate qualitatively the various aspects of the kinetic theory of gases. An electric motor running at 4 - 12V DC vibrates a small platform inside the Perspex tube causing the steel balls to move within the tube. An increase in the violence of vibration simulates an increase in gas temperature and an increase in the weight of the 'float' simulates an increase in gas pressure. Supplied with balls Styrofoam float and manual.
