Schools are welcoming a growing number of children who are learning English as an Additional Language. Equipping these children with the necessary skills to integrate successfully can seem a daunting task for many teachers.

This new 10-week intervention programme aims to enable these children to progress both academically and socially. It consists of 50 sessions; each lasting 40 minutes; and progresses from the vocabulary of greetings; school objects and place names to that of number; time; weather and animals. The programme provides focused and intensive support so that children quickly acquire the basic language skills they need in order to access both classroom and social activities with more confidence. Each session is packed with interactive activities that make learning fun; and is supported with the necessary photocopiable resources.
